Yamaha alpha

Yamaha alpha
with the promising mileage of 62km/l yamaha alpha is heating up the road with its looks, design, performance and storage space making their claim, concrete, as a family scooter. In this article we will look into depth with a 360 degree view to judge alpha.
Looks & design: claiming to be a family scooter yamaha has changed the appearance of alpha from its previous scooter ray and ray-z. The scooter is well designed not so bold rather more decent. The headlight coming above, large and comfortable seat that is smooth to ride in the city. The storage capacity which is 21 liter is the most talked about feature as it saves us from carrying extra baggage to the market and actually create sense to be a family scooter.
Engine performance & efficiency: the engine is powered by 113cc air cooled with continuously variable transmission provides smooth acceleration. It is not the fastest scooter on the street but family scooter is not meant to be one.
Ride quality: the light weight of 104 kg and smooth handling makes it a comfortable ride especially in the streets and in the traffic. It has safe and secure ride with telescopic forks and firm suspension. If compared to competition like activa and maestro they are more powerful as a ride but alpha is decent though.
Verdict: the claim of yamaha alpha to be the family scooter justifies with the features they have added. The generic feature like mileage looks and performance on which it stands well but apart from it where alpha wins over other is the storage capacity which 21 liter. With the ex-showroom price of delhi being 47,335 inr it would be good idea to go for alpha.

Bad mileage scooter
Kiran
I bought this scooter 3 months ago. This scooter looks good but when it come to mileage it's very bad. Giving 20 - 25 mileage. It gives lot of sound if you go less than 40 speed. Fuel indicator is very bad, it shows empty if you have 1 litre petrol also. Disc brake is not working properly. Better to go for honda activa.

Good family bike

Lance
500 Km review ..Decent styling like the dual tone paint scheme, smooth engine but lacks power, 0 - 30 is abit slow for my liking, but engine is good from 50 to 80 kmph after 80 kmph the engine struggles. Current mileage is about 52 to 55 kmpl.
Suspention is a bit stiff, had a long seat but not very comfortable foam is a bit hard. Very nice underseat storage. Bike handles nicely on city roads and on highways (below the speed of 80 kmph).
A very good city scooty for a family, good quality product ,but is has is cons like no hill brake lock, lack of power. But overall a good scooty. I wish yamaha can add a 125 above scooty to its line up. As all scooties have the same 113cc engine.
Pros
good fuel economy, boot space, smooth engine.,Dual tone paint scheme
cons
engine lacks power,no brake lock on handle, seat big but not comfortable

This scooter cygnus alpha i did buy after lot of online research ,but seriously it's waste of time ,had been using it for one year the mileage what you are told is 60+ kmpl but honestly it's just 30kmpl ,on top of this the fuel gauge is one piece of crap it would show empty when it's half tank and you cant fill more than 3 liters , performance yes it's better like pickup and handling the looks , but for a 100 + cc bike the millage is worse ,and unreliable fuel gauge even after repeated complaint s to service center there no change .So guys if you are looking for scooter with reasonable mileage please avoid cygnus alpha

The best scooty in range of this model scooties. I bought this scooty last month and found it very much beneficial. I used to own Yamaha Fascino before it was a mind blowing scooty by its look and mileage both I thought of replacing it with Yamaha Alpha and I am quite satisfied also by my decision.

I bought for 66k 3 yrs ago all was good except for fittings and brakes. It looks familiar as activa but it gives 50-55kmph mileage service maintenance is average not that good. Overall compared to activa its good. Top speed we can go 95 also i went above 100 speed didn't have a vibration at all. Totally its good.
