I was thinking to buy mt15 But little disappointed due higher price tag at lower quality. By reducing aluminum swing arm, dual channel abs, usd forks, most famous color scheme, coloured alloy wheels features bike looks decent but not value for money at that price tag. Yamaha must provide dual channel abs and colour variant at least to increase sales. Hope they'll launch updated version as early as possible.

  • Harsh engine

    Mirza

I love this bike so much and it ran really well for first 500 kms. But then i face a serious issue with bike after running in rain for couple of days. The engine turns itself off while riding, it becomes harsh , more rough sound, less refinement, showing high missing. These issues are frequent in rain. After it is kept idle for 2 days engine turn off issue is gone. I took it to service center and they act like nothing's wrong and give back the same vehicle and problem occurs again. Probably i received a defective one. Service centres not good at all.

  • Rusting problem

    Seemakurthi Amar Kumar

I gave rating of 5 star for everything about the bike but I just rated 2 stars for service center's behavior. I purchased my bike on 21-02-2021. It has rusting problem at chassis welding joints. When I complained about that they are saying that it has to develop some more, it is a new bike but why it is rusting i asked them, but they didn't answer any thing. Yamaha first develop your service centers and then start manufacturing your products. We spent 172000 lakh rupee to buy a rusting new bike. If any one is buying MT-15 please first check all the part of the body, Yamaha is selling with defective parts to the customers and they are increasing their profits.

The buying experience is good and staff is friendly. The ride quality of bike is top notch and its handling is 10/10 although suspension are bit stiff but it contributes to handling and its initial pickup is really awesome. Overtaking any vehicle is just a piece of cake. The service cost is pretty low as and its easy to maintain. The looks of this bike is 10/10 and its always a head turner in the traffic.
    Also if driven between 6k - 7k rom I got a mileage above 50 km/l.
    Pros:
    1. Handling
    2. Mileage
    3. Acceleration
    4. Seating Posture
    Cons:
    1. Seat
    2. Pillion Comfort
Recently I toured alone on it for around 800km and it just glides on the road smoothly no vibes at all but the cushioning on the seat is bit hard. I took a break after every 3 hours.

    Rounak

The bike is top of the class in 150 to 200cc segment.. The bike offers good mileage when used in city approx. 45km and can be used for touring too... The bike has way more power than any 150cc bike.. The engine refinement is amazingly awesome.. No cons from yamaha... Even the servicing cost is average compared to any daily used two wheeler.. Lots and lots of happiness after the purchase.

Booked my beast 1 month before launch got it on 1st april 2019.I'm in love with the looks of the bike.Wherever i go people just keep staring and asking about this beast.Mileage is also more than expected. Its giving 48kmpl in city, highway mileage not tested yet.In terms of quality its amazing after all its a yamaha product so no doubt about quality.Price is little bit on higher side.If yamaha had given dual channel abs and aluminium cast swingarm like r15v3 the price could had been justified.I think its 10000 rupees more costlier than it should had been.Competition like ns200 and apache 200 are available at considerably lower price point with more performance.

Company recommend engine oil grade is 10w40. I recommend to switch to Motul 7100 10w40 after 6000kms. Please remember to flush your engine before switching to new brand engine oil. If you ride more at top end then switch to Motul 300v 10w40 or else 7100 10w40 is enough for everyday traffic and city use. Yamalube is not as advanced as Motul. Motul has ester core technology and also lasts for more kilometers than Yamalube. My friend uses Motul in his R15v3 and he is very satisfied with it. Clean and lube the chain in every 1000kms. Clean and lube the chain at every 500kms if you live in dusty area. Warm up your engine for 5 mins everyday when you start your bike. Don't push the bike to top end when the engine is cold. Ride the bike for at least 10 kms before pushing it to its top end. Don't change the company recommended engine oil grade as it will damage your engine parts. Service your bike at proper time as recommended by the manufacturer.

  • Mt15 v2

    Chandan

I own the mt15 bs4 version in black color. I love this bike.
    Reasons to love the bike-
    1. Looks
    2. Great performance from a 155cc engine although my brother has rtr 160 4v , mt has an edge over its rivals
    3. Comfort, since it is a naked bike, the good riding position
    now reasons to dislike-
    1. Poor build quality
    2. Yamaha's high service cost for example- only its rear disc brake costs you roughly 800 rupees
    3. Losing its vfm composition.
I am using this bike for 2 years and after watching the mt v2 it totally lost its value for money composition.
Back then I bought it 1.46lakh on-road dhanbad jharkhand and now it costs you 1.95lakh on-road dhanbad with lesser power figures. You are paying 49000 rupees only for aluminum swingarm, usd form, few changes in meter console and so-called "international colours". I bet sales of this bike will go down day by day likewise r15 v4. Yamaha will soon end up like ford. Yamaha must be aware. Your marketing tactics are disastrous for your company in India.

The bike is a beast, with such a horse power the bike is runs so smooth just from 20 speed just for a year change it can reach up to the speed of 107kmph. It feels really smooth to be ride this beast, easily curved and light weight so the balance is easy, the headlights look bomb and the performance is top notch, the servicing is cheaper compared to r15 v3, the thing which i hated in this bike is the switching of the indicator switch and the horn switch, rest the bike is full of pros.

  • Not value for money

    Pranit

I was thinking to buy mt15 But little disappointed due higher price tag at lower quality. By reducing aluminum swing arm, dual channel abs, usd forks, most famous color scheme, coloured alloy wheels features bike looks decent but not value for money at that price tag. Yamaha must provide dual channel abs and colour variant at least to increase sales. Hope they'll launch updated version as early as possible.
