  • Yamaha R15 V4 Beast

    Harish

Last year I took Yamaha R15 V4, The R15 series has always been known for its sporty design and performance, and the V4 version takes it to a whole new level. Here's my comprehensive review of the bike.
Design and appearance: the Yamaha R15 V4 boasts a sleek and aggressive design that catches the eye. The sharp lines and aerodynamic fairings give it a sporty look. The LED headlights and tail lights add a touch to the overall design. The bike's colour schemes are vibrant, making it stand out among its competitors.
Performance: one of the amazing features of the R15 V4 is its performance. Powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled engine, it delivers an impressive power output and acceleration. The bike feels incredibly responsive and agile, making it a joy to ride, especially on curvy roads. The upgraded variable valve actuation (VVA) technology enhances the bike's performance, providing a smooth power delivery across the rpm range.
Handling and ride quality: Yamaha has always been known for its exceptional handling, and the R15 V4 lives up to that reputation. The bike feels nimble and precise, allowing the rider to confidently manoeuvre through tight corners. The telescopic front suspension and mono-shock rear suspension provide a comfortable ride, absorbing most bumps and vibrations on the road. However, on uneven surfaces, the rear suspension can feel slightly stiff. Features and technology R15 V4 comes loaded with advanced features and technology. The fully digital instrument cluster provides all the necessary information at a glance, including speed, rpm, fuel level, and gear position. It also offers additional features such as a gear shift indicator, fuel efficiency indicator, and even Bluetooth connectivity for pairing with a smartphone. The inclusion of dual-channel abs ensures enhanced safety, especially during sudden braking.
Comfort and ergonomics: while the R15 V4 is primarily designed as a sportbike, the seating position is relatively comfortable for a rider of average height. However, taller riders may find the rear-set footpegs and aggressive riding posture a bit cramped during long rides. The seat cushioning is adequate but could benefit from additional padding for improved long-distance comfort.
Conclusion: Overall, the Yamaha R15 V4 is a commendable upgrade to an already impressive lineup. Its sporty design, exhilarating performance, and advanced features make it an attractive option for enthusiasts and young riders alike. While there are minor areas that could be improved, such as the rear suspension and seat comfort, the R15 V4 remains a fantastic choice for those seeking a thrilling riding experience.

Extraordinary milage easily 50+kmpl, be it speed, style, riding dynamics all tick marks for this stunner named R15v4(Racing Blue). • This bike is not for you.

    Nikhilesh G

    1. I bought it from perfect riders, which is an authorized Yamaha dealer. Their staff is good, but once you get your bike, they don't respond to you properly. So my buying experience is not good.
    2. The riding experience is good only for short rides; if you want to do a long road trip and the daily commute, this is not the right bike for you. The pillion seat is not at all comfortable. If you ride this bike for a long time, you'll end up with lower back and wrist pain. This bike is for performance, not to ride comfortably.
On December 31, 2022, I went on a one-day trip with my sister on my brand-new yamaha r15 v4. In one day, I covered almost 290 to 300 kilometers. After coming back to my house, my lower back started to hurt, and my sister felt uncomfortable because of the seat height and because there was no handlebar to hold on to for support. And this is not a suitable bike to commute every day or for long highway runs.
    3. The best performance bike in the 155cc segment looks like the Yamaha r7.
    4. Compare to r15 v3, v4 service cost is a bit high even the spare parts price as well
    5. Pros: best performance bike in the 155cc segment.
Cons: the price is high for 155cc segment
    Committed riding position.
The seat is not at all comfortable for the pillion.
Service cost & spare cost is a bit high compared to r15 v3 & mt15.
Not suitable for a road trips.

  • Ride more and worry less on the increasing fuel prices.

    Lalit

I bought this bike 4months back, initially, it was a little uncomfortable as I had switched from a naked bike to a fully faired bike. Later on, I was quite comfortable as I ride it for 45km on a daily run, so far the bike has done nearly ridden 5800km and I'm getting a constant mileage of 45-46kmpl so far. Abs works quite well but still misses out on giving the confidence of braking at higher speed.
It lacks a few features such as switching the abs off, TCS needs to turn off every to on the bike.
Overall a great bike with amazing features at this price point.
