- Bajaj Dominar range launched in Malayasia

Bajaj has launched the Dominar 400 and Dominar 250 in Malaysia under the Modenas branding at the 2023 Malaysia Autoshow.
For those not in the know, Modenas and Bajaj signed a deal a few years ago which includes launching the latter’s motorcycles in the Malaysian market while also exchanging technology between the two companies. The motorcycles have been exported from India via the CKD route with the final assembly done at Modenas’ production facility.
That said, there is no major difference between the Dominar 400 and 250 sold in Malaysia and here. The Dominar 400 comes with factory-fitted touring accessories like a tall visor, hand guard, pillion back-rest, and a luggage carrier. It also benefits from an engine bash plate with an integrated metal skid plate, a new leg guard, and saddle stays as well.
A USB charging port and navigation part port is also part of the package. All the accessories, apart from saddle stay come as standard on the Dominar 400. The Dominar 400 sold in Mayalasia continues to use the 373.3cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 39.42bhp and 35Nm of peak torque. The hardware, too, is similar to the one sold in India.
On the other hand, the Dominar 250 also uses the same powertrain and hardware as the unit sold in India. It gets a 249 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder mill that is based on the KTM 250 Duke’s engine. This motor churns out 26.8bhp and 23.5Nm. Now even the colour options are the same with Citrus Rush available alongside the Red and Black options.
Now the Dominar 400 has been priced at RM 15,797 which is an equivalent of Rs 2.90 lakh while the Dominar 250 costs RM 13,797 which converts to Rs 2.53 lakh.
