Honda of America has issued a recall for some of their VT750 Shadow motorcycles in the United States with a potential problem in the bikes’ electrical system.
Honda has admitted that they’ve spotted a total of 22,142 motorcycles that may be affected. On a broader note, Honda has revealed that the models are the VT750CA, VT750C2 and VT750C2F built between 2012 and 2014, VT750C produced from 2011 to 2016, VT750CS manufactured from 2013 to 2016, VT750C2B built between 2010 and 2016, and VT750C2S produced from 2013 to 2014.
The manufacturer added that vibrations from the engine could lead a wire for the bank angle sensor to rub against the joint connector on the wiring harness. This would eventually result in a loss of the signal and could stall the engine, increasing the risk of a crash. No injuries have been reported as of now and Honda is expected to begin the recall on February 19, 2016 where dealers will replace the bank angle sensor and move the joint connector. There will be no charge and the work will take an hour to complete. Honda does not sell their VT750 Shadow motorcycle in India.
