Kawasaki Eliminator rumoured to make a comeback!

- Kawasaki to unveil three new motorcycles soon

- Teaser shows a small-size cruiser

- Eliminator could come back with 250cc and 400cc engines

Kawasaki is all set to unveil three new motorcycles at the upcoming Bangkok International Motor Show scheduled to take place on 22 March in Thailand. If online rumours are anything to go by, one of these bikes will be the new-generation model of the Eliminator cruiser. Kawasaki recently rolled out a teaser image showing three motorcycles under wraps one of which is unmistakably a cruiser.

For those who’ve forgotten, the Eliminator was a popular 175cc cruiser produced by Kawasaki and Bajaj concertedly in India. However, it was discontinued soon after its launch for more reasons than one. Now, rumours suggest that the motorcycle might be reincarnated with two engine displacements including 250cc and 400cc.

Since Kawasaki already has 250cc and 400cc parallel-twin platforms, it won’t be a herculean task to re-tune these engines to suit the character of the Eliminator. However, it remains to be seen what kind of hardware, styling, and features it will boast. In all certainty, the design will be similar to the Kawasaki’s existing cruiser, the Vulcan S

Amongst the other two motorcycles, one will perhaps be the Ninja ZX-4R which has been a topic of online discussions for a while, mainly due to the unique inline-four configuration of its 400cc engine. This bike will sit above the Ninja ZX-25R inline-four offering which is already on sale in various markets. Furthermore, the silhouette of the third motorcycle in the teaser is clearly that of an adventure tourer, similar to the Versys 650. However, its engine displacement is still a mystery. For all we know, it might be a 400cc or a 250cc parallel-twin offering.

Now, if the cruiser in question is the Eliminator with a small-size engine, it will most probably come to India considering Kawasaki has been trying its luck with small bikes like the W175 on our shores.
