Got mileage of

28 kmpl

Bought the beast in august,2020 and at that time it was priced 1.95 lac(ex showroom). At that price point other available bikes which i have shortlisted along with dominar 400 are duke 250, himalayan, jawa perak. Now i will compare each of them with dominar 400.Duke 250 : absolutely stunning design and loaded with premium components from ktm. It is very good for city ride as well as it is lighter than dominar. But it lacks the raw power which i can feel on dominar at highway. With dominar i can cruise at 120 km/h effortlessly and have power in stock to overtake almost every vehicle in the highway.Himalayan : a great adventure bike at this price point. Tackle bad roads with ease. But i am not a guy who wants to stay in tarmac instead of going in offroading. In highway himalayan feels lack of power. It feels less powerful in comparison with duke 250 also. Other than that i was also little bit skeptical about servicing cost and reliability as it is a royal enfield product. Jawa perak : looks good with old school charm and black finish. Performance wise it lags in comparison with dominar, but i was ok with that as the look just amazed me. But later point when i get to know about jawa service center reputation and problem of parts in avilability and very few java service center in india in comparison of bajaj, i restrain myself from jawa perak.Looks, performance, riding experience : when you first get the bike and sit on it with your legs, you can immediately feel it is a heavy machine. But once you start the machine and it is on its wheel you can not feel that hefty weight anymore. Although you can feel it again in a u turn and turning radius is quite big for it. Other than that you will be always informed that it is a powerful machine and 40 raging horses are ready to be unleashed at a twist of your wrist but it will not provoke you for that unlike ktm 390 siblings. It is not a eye catchy like its other competitors in stand still, even some people some time get confused with my dominar (vine black) with my friend's fzs 150(matte black). But once you give a little of throttle to this beast, it's bassy exhaust will remind you that it is a powerful machine. You can cruise with that all day with great comfort, although the pillion seat is not on that level. It can tackle bad roads with its frond usd forks and overall soft suspension setup(its heavy weight also play a role here).Servicing and maintenance : being a bajaj product it is very easy and cheap to maintain. I have done first service with oil change, oil filter change, coolant top-up and basic servicing which cost me 1489rs to be exact. Other than that i do chain cleaning and lubrication in every 500 km which is recommended.Cons: the only problems i have faced till now is 1. It gets heat up very quickly in traffic. It is not extreme like duke 390, but still it gets pretty hot.2. In 3000-4000 rpm range it gets too much vibey. I can not feel much vibration in below or above this range.3. Rear brake does not justify with this bike. You have to mainly rely on front brake only to stop the vehicle. Rear brake has very less bite.4. Although it is a sports tourer, it get only 13 liter tank which is very less for a touring bike.5. It does not come with a center stand, even bajaj doesn't provide it as a accessories. Which is very useful for chain cleaning and tire inspection.

  • Beast - powerhouse on the wheel

I gave this title because this bike is very powerful and runs with great speed. It's called "Powerhouse on Wheels" because it gives power to its ride like giving power to its car. It also has a liquid-cooled engine which makes it efficient in terms of performance and durability. Additionally, its design and features make it stand out from other bikes in its class, making it a powerhouse on wheels.

  • Upgrades in Dominor 400 Performances

The Dominar 400 is one of the leading budget sport-touring motorcycles in India. It debuted in the motorbike market in 2019 and is one of the leading motorcycles in India. It is categorized as the most out-performing motorcycle in its segment.
I am always impressed by Bajaj Dominar's results. The SOHC layout on offer surely helps in improving the refinement of the motor. Other major updates in the new Dominor 400 include upside-down forks, a double-barrel exhaust, a radial caliper on the front disk, and a new instrument cluster with a gear shift indicator.

Good bike for daily commuters as well as off-roading, the heavy engine gives you a good experience and takes you to another level of driving. Drive safely on roads and don't compete yourself with others in terms of useless showoffs. I am expecting more upgrades on this bike to give or feel another level of driving experience

The Bajaj Dominar 400 is a mid-capacity cruiser motorcycle that shines on the highway, offering a comfortable and powerful riding experience for long-distance touring, while still being manageable for city commutes thanks to its smooth power delivery and decent fuel efficiency...

  • Very good sports Tourer in budget

    Shashidhar Reddy

Dominar 400 especially after the UG model with E20 BS6 update which comes with a touring kit is very good value for money. The engine is adequately refined and the exhaust sounds good once you pick up the pace, Turning radius is however is larger due to the longer wheelbase which we get used to after a few kms of riding. A longer wheelbase and 190kg Kerby weight help in aiding the bike's stability in higher speeds above 80-100 kmph where it's cursing effortlessly. I do miss the centre stand though, The rest is all good about this bike just go for it.

  • The onlyValue for money bike with Flagship Performance and refinement

    Abhinay

I have been using this bike since 2019 and thought to write a detailed review about this bike as I've driven 25k+ kms on this bike
    Pros:
    1. The price-to-performance ratio is no match, there's no bike anywhere in the world that can give you this performance at this cheap price. Writing this after a lot of research
    2. Refinement - Bajaj has worked a lot on refining the engine giving a flagship experience. You don't feel this like a Bajaj bike or a Pulsar bike. Dominar refinement is something else. You feel confident enough to rely on the Engine while riding for long distances
    3. Mile Muncher: You can go very long effortlessly on this bike as the dynamics are great. You sit straight because of the design. You just need to add some handlebar risers and you're ready. ~190 kg The Weight of this machine is an added advantage - it gives a lot more confidence in high-speeds
    4. Ground clearance - This bike is designed with a great balance - You'll love the highways as well as a bit of off-roading when possible
    Cons:
    1. Gearbox can be slightly better
    2. The clutch can be a little lost as we drive for a long time on this vehicle
    3. This bike deserves better tires - Stock MRF is also decent, but better tires make you feel better
    4. Braking distance can be improved
All the above cons are no way before the Pros this bike brings to you. So anybody who's planning to buy a bike for Fun city commutes and Comfortable Highway Mile munching at that budget - You can buy this with no second thoughts

The bike has been maintained with emotion. Always serviced at 2500km cycle and each service only at the authorized service center in Thane Maharashtra. Less driven with new battery which is 3 months old, sprocket which is 4K kms old and tyres which are 4.5k kms old. The bike performs like a fresh piece. Has very minimal vibrations and in absolute mint condition.

  • Is Dominar 400 still unbeatable in 2024?

    Subham Mitra

    1. Power bands are at 2.5 k RPM and after 4 k RPM. Buzz will be there.
    2. Top speed can vary from 153 to 161 KMPH depending on the situation.
    3. Mileage varies from 27 to 30 km/l.
    4. Heavy-weight bike, so if you're skinny like me, you need some time to get used to it.
    5. The rider seat is comfortable enough, but the pillion seat isn't comfortable for longer rides.
    6. Stock tires aren't that great.
    7. The service center experience wasn't good for me.
    8. Test riding this and other competitors is a must before deciding.

    Shantanu Mishra

  • Beast - powerhouse on the wheel

    Abhishek Gorivale

I gave this title because this bike is very powerful and runs with great speed. It's called "Powerhouse on Wheels" because it gives power to its ride like giving power to its car. It also has a liquid-cooled engine which makes it efficient in terms of performance and durability. Additionally, its design and features make it stand out from other bikes in its class, making it a powerhouse on wheels.

  • Upgrades in Dominor 400 Performances

    Biswojeet Patra

The Dominar 400 is one of the leading budget sport-touring motorcycles in India. It debuted in the motorbike market in 2019 and is one of the leading motorcycles in India. It is categorized as the most out-performing motorcycle in its segment.
I am always impressed by Bajaj Dominar's results. The SOHC layout on offer surely helps in improving the refinement of the motor. Other major updates in the new Dominor 400 include upside-down forks, a double-barrel exhaust, a radial caliper on the front disk, and a new instrument cluster with a gear shift indicator.

    Shubham

Good bike for daily commuters as well as off-roading, the heavy engine gives you a good experience and takes you to another level of driving. Drive safely on roads and don't compete yourself with others in terms of useless showoffs. I am expecting more upgrades on this bike to give or feel another level of driving experience
