Benling is a Chinese electric two-wheeler maker which entered into the Indian market in December 2018. Although the company is yet to establish a strong presence in India, it is quite popular overseas. At present, the company has one assembly plant set up in Manesar, Haryana, which it plans to convert into a manufacturing facility. It also aims to setup multiple facilities across India. In terms of dealership reach, Benling has over 100 stores across the country.
Benling’s India portfolio currently has four products, with prices ranging from Rs 43,000 to Rs 59,000. The entry-level offering is Kriti which is a low-speed EV with a claimed top speed of 25kmph and a battery range of 60km. It is available in options of lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries. Meanwhile, the top-spec product from Benling is Aura which sports an Italian design, very similar to Vespa scooters. It is powered by a lithium-ion battery which has an impressive range of up to 120km while the top speed is rated at 60kmph.
