A Tribute
Think Suvil and things like protein shakes, terrible black coffee without sugar, and calories, or lack thereof, come to mind. But then, we think Suvil and we also think of burgers and missal pao and jalebi and rabri from Chetak. That’s the thing about Suvil, he had breadth and a zest to live and explore.
He was a person who always had a smile on his face no matter how bad the situations were in his life. In fact, he always wanted to make sure everyone around him was happy too. This was evident by how often he would order high calorie, happy and comforting food for the entire team without expecting anything in return.
Even his love for motorcycles was unparalleled. He never rode to impress anyone. It was just pure passion and commitment. And this made him an extremely responsible and alert rider; something that we always admired about him. We have lost count of how many times he asked us to ride to Nashik with him to have missal pao. It used to be his ultimate idea of a weekend ride.
We wish we had agreed to it more often. But, his passion and zeal didn’t just end at motorcycles. He was equally committed towards his fitness and diet. Anyone who ever had a conversation with Suvil will probably remember getting something close to a diet chart. We would often get bored of his fitness talks but he really really wanted to help all of us get fit. It was this helping and giving nature of his that really made him stand out among all of us. And his absence will always stick around as a massive void, be it on our team outings, weekend rides, lunch breaks or during those mundane work days.
Suvil Susvirkar, we are eternally grateful to you. Thank you for existing in our lives for however short a time. And we will always order an extra plate of missal for you.
Ride in peace, our dearest friend.
