Bimota has shown off a number of models at EICMA, including the BB2 that is powered by the BMW S1000RR's engine. However, what made us blink with disbelief is this, the DB11. Not only is it as exotic looking as they come, but it is powered by a genuine superbike engine - that is then supercharged.
That front fairing looks like a fusion of a KTM RC8 and BMW K100RT, but it works. There seems to be a pillion seat as well, but no footrests for the passenger. The exhaust is made by Athena but has been designed by Bimota itself. The brakes are Brembo monoblocs, although we find it strange that only the rear gets a wave disc. Suspension is either Ohlins or Marzocchi (opinions are mixed and Bimota doesn't have a press office) and the wheels are OZ rims. The chassis looks to be similar to the Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum steel with aluminium plate chassis as the DB9.
At the heart of the matter is Ducati's 1198 Testastretta engine, only it is boosted with a Sprintex dual-screw supercharger, which boosts power output to 188bhp and 142Nm. All this from a dry weight of 179kg.
With all the exotic technology packed into the motorcycle, it isn't really any wonder why Bimota hasn't announced its price. If, however, you need to know, well, you're not going to be able to afford it.
