TVS Motor Company has announced that it has rolled out the 1,00,000 units of the BMW 310 series from its Hosur facility. The 1,00,000 milestone motorcycle, which was a G 310 GS, was rolled out from the facility by KN Radhakrishnan, Director and CEO, TVS Motor Company and Rainer Baumel, Head of Products, 1-, 2-Cylinder and Urban Mobility, BMW Motorrad.
Our regular readers would know that TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad signed a cooperation agreement to develop and produce sub-500cc motorcycles for the global market back in 2013. Under this partnership, the companies introduced three products on the 310cc platform – namely BMW G 310 R, BMW G 310 GS, and TVS Apache RR 310. All three products are manufactured by TVS Motor Company at its Hosur facility.
TVS Motor Company’s Hosur manufacturing plant produces around 10 per cent of BMW Motorrad’s volumes globally. These BMW motorcycles are exported to 120 countries. The G 310 R rivals the likes of KTM 390 Duke while the G 310 GS competes against the KMT 390 Adventure. The motorcycles pack features such as full-LED lighting, digital instrument cluster, upside-down front forks, rear mono-shock, and dual-channel ABS.
