2013 Ducati Hypermotard and Hyperstrada unveiled at EICMA

Ducati has updated the Hypermotard line-up at the 2012 EICMA, along with introducing a new touring version called the Hyperstrada. The new bike is powered by the 821cc Testastretta 11-degree V-Twin engine, producing respectable 110bhp and 89Nm.

The Hyperstrada gets a similar steel tube trellis frame, like the rest of the line-up. It has touring screen, touring seats, passenger grab handles and also a centre stand. The rest of the features are common to the entire range including 3-level ABS, 8-level traction control, ride-by-wire throttle and selectable riding modes that changes power delivery.

The base Hypermotard gets a non-adjustable Kayaba fork and Sachs shocks with adjustable spring preload and damping for 2013. The suspension of the Hypermotard SP is now upgraded to Marzocchi forks with aluminum sliders and full damping adjustment with Ohlins piggyback shocks. The SP also gets forged wheels for 2013 instead of gravity die-cast ones.

The Hypermotard starts at USD 11,995 (RS 6.59 lakh), the new Hyperstrada will cost USD 13,295 (Rs 7.30 lakh) and the top-of-the-line SP costs USD 14,695 (Rs 8.07 lakh) – before taxes.
