The 2015 BMW S1000RR has been spotted undergoing trials in Europe. With just a week to go before its global unveil at the 2014 INTERMOT Show, the test mule was completely undisguised, which indicates that the new S1000RR is ready in its production form.
The lack of camouflage lets out details about the motorcycle like the revised fairing and repositioned air scoops. The fairing seems to have been revised to improve aerodynamics and ventilation for the engine. The rear set and the riding position of the motorcycle also seem to have been altered.
The Swiss magazine, which released the spy picture, reported that the front end of the new S1000RR seemed to have a symmetrical front end, though this seems highly unlikely as the asymmetrical twin headlamp is one of the biggest attractions of the motorcycle.
The technological updates on the new motorcycle will include a new active suspension and the racing ABS from the flagship BMW HP4. The new suspension geometry, better brakes and the more efficient cooling all mean that we can expect a significant boost in the firepower from the 1000cc four-cylinder engine.
The horsepower race seems to be getting very competitive as the list of manufacturers with 200+bhp motorcycle in their line-up keeps getting bigger. This year’s INTERMOT Show in Cologne, Germany, will definitely be an interesting spectacle as many manufacturers will attempt to grab the attention of the public with their new motorcycles. Earlier this week, BMW revealed that they were going to unveil five new models at the INTERMOT Show in Germany.
