Last week, MV Agusta had teased a new motorcycle which was going to be unveiled at the EICMA Show, this month. However, Dutch website nieuwsmotor has played spoilsports for the company as it leaked the first photo of the new light touring motorcycle, christened 800 Stradale.
The 800 Stradale looks very similar to the MV Agusta Rivale, but it gets many upgrades like a new windscreen, seat and mirrors. It sports the triple exhaust arrangement that is also used in the company's other three-pot models, though it uses rectangular tips instead of the circular ones found on the Rivale. To increase its capacity, the 800 Stradale has been equipped with panniers with integrated indicators. The passenger foot pegs have repositioned to accommodate the panniers, and it also gets different wheels.
The 800 Stradale is powered by the same three-cylinder 800cc engine, though the power figure has been brought down to 115bhp, thanks to the lower rev limit of 11,000rpm. The suspension might have also been altered to handle the extra weight. The torque figure has also been reduced to 78Nm from 84Nm. The altered fuel tank can now accommodate 16 litres as opposed to 12.9 litres that the Rivale has to make do with.
The MV Agusta 800 Stradale will rival the other light touring motorcycles like the Ducati Hyperstrada. The motorcycle will make its first public appearance at the EICMA Show, in the next few days. Besides the 800 Stradale, we can also expect to see other new MV Agusta motorcycles like the Turismo Veloce 800, 800 Dragster RR, Brutale 800 RR and the SBK version of the F4 at the annual event in Milan, Italy.
