A batch of studio images of the MV Agusta Dragster RR have been leaked by a Dutch website, ahead of the motorcycle’s official unveiling at 2014 EICMA Show. MV Agusta, taking a cue from Kawasaki, had started previewing the new motorcycle in small bits by uploading teaser videos. This leak however, has played spoilsports for the Italian manufacturer, as the motorcycle has now been completely revealed.
The Dragster RR is a special edition of the radical Dragster 800 streetfighter, and is available in two new shades - red and white or red and black. As previewed in the earlier teaser, the Dragster RR will sport Kineo wheels t omatch the paint scheme, while mechanical changes include new Marzocchi forks and a steering damper. Other body styling and attire of the Dragster 800 have all been carried forward.
The Dragster RR will continue to use the 798cc three-cylinder engine, though it might be retuned for better power output than the 125bhp and 81Nm of torque the regular unit produces. The engine comes mated to a six-speed constant mesh transmission.
The new paint job and the wheels give the already intimidating MV Agusta Dragster 800 a darker look. The RR in the new motorcycle’s moniker hints that the company might bring this out as a more performance-biased machine than the current Dragster 800. We expect more intricate details about the Dragster RR to be revealed as the date for the EICMA Show in Milan draws closer.
