MV Agusta has announced that it will be launching a new World Superbike (WSB) homologation special for their WSB series, next year. In a special presentation to journalists, the Italian manufacturer revealed that the next F4 RR motorcycle will produce 210bhp and will weigh just 175kg.
MV Agusta claims that the new F4 RR will weigh eight per cent less than the current motorcycle, which translates into a power-to-weight ratio of 1.2bhp per kg. To push the power figures and reduce weight, MV Agusta has opted to go for a new cylinder head, crankshaft, camshafts and lighter pistons with titanium conrods.
The MV Agusta F4 RR will be equipped with Ohlins suspension and a Termignoni exhaust system. Optional extras will include a full titanium exhaust system. Expect it to come with lots of carbon fibre and magnesium parts.
WSB rules stipulate that the customer versions of superbikes have to be priced below EUR 40,000 (Rs 31.05 lakh) and MV Agusta is expected to push the price figure to the limit for this motorcycle. Expected to be produced in a limited numbers, the F4 RR edition will be unveiled officially at the 2014 EICMA Show in Milan, early next month.
