Victory Motorcycles has unveiled the newest member in the company's 'Baggers' family, the 2015 Magnum. A derivative of the Victory Cross Country, the Magnum gets bold design cues which make it one hell of a bling machine. Adding to this bling factor is a 21-inch ‘black roulette’ rim with a contrast cut design which is touted to be the largest production front wheel for a motorcycle.
To accommodate the massive front wheel, Victory has tinkered with the front forks and dampers. The rear seat height has been dropped by a significant amount, making the Magnum the motorcycle with the lowest seat height in its class. The windscreen gets a boomerang design to improve air flow around the motorcycle.
The Victory Magnum has a big equipment list which includes cruise control, ABS, LED headlamps, a large analogue clock for speed and rpm and an electronic display for other functions. However, the cherry on the cake is the 100 watt music system which makes it the most powerful sound system ever fitted on a production motorcycle. Victory offers six speakers as standard, though you can also opt for a few more to be fitted in the saddlebag.
Like its siblings, the Victory Country 8-Ball and the Victory Cross Country, the Magnum is powered by a fuel-injected 1731cc V-twin engine which has been rated at 143Nm of torque. Despite the loads of torque available, the Magnum does not rank very high on the performance scale and emphasis has been given on a more linear power delivery. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with belt final drive.
The Victory Magnum retails at USD 22,000 (Rs 13.23 lakh) and is available in four paint schemes - sunset red over supersteel grey, plasma lime, metasheen black over supersteel grey and ness midnight cherry. Like all technology-laden cruisers in the market, the Victory Magnum will be available with a host of optional extras.
