Ducati recently unveiled the 2017 Monster 797, its new entry-level model in the Monster range at the EICMA Show in Italy. While it isn’t as sophisticated as other Monsters, Ducati expects the Monster 797 to be the highest selling product in the family. Here is a detailed photo gallery of the Ducati Monster 797 -
The Monster 797 is built around a traditional steel trellis frame painted with a triangular double-sided swingarm.
A classic oval headlamp with integrated LED DRLs sits at the front. The LCD instrument console gets Ducati’s proprietary multimedia system.
The Monster 797’s 30.7-inch seat height and 192 kilogram kerb weight should make it more accessible for beginners than the Monster 821.
Propelling the Ducati Monster 797 is an 803cc air-cooled L-twin Desmodue engine, delivering 75bhp and 69Nm of torque.
The suspension bits are basic - 43mm Kayaba inverted front forks and an offset Sachs rear monoshock with preload and rebound adjust.
The brake setup consists of dual 320mm disc brakes up front and a 245mm disc brake in the rear, both with Brembo callipers.
While it loses out on electronics like traction control and riding modes, the Monster 797 does get an ABS system as standard.
Apart from the white silk, the Monster 797 is also offered in Ducati red and a dark stealth paint scheme.
