There have been many patent images of the next generation of Kawasaki Z800 floating around. The bike is expected to come with a sportier riding position and adjustable bodywork to act like a mini-fairing. The 2017 Z800 is also expected to be equipped with better technology and have advanced rider modes.
The next step for Kawasaki in the model’s development is getting a full fairing with extra bodywork that sits alongside the top of the frame to deflect engine heat away from the rider. In the two patent images that have just been filed by the Japanese manufacturer, the new full fairing outline has been added on top of the current drawing showing a 3/4 fairing which the bike is understood to come with as an option.
The current generation Kawasaki Z800 is powered by the liquid-cooled inline-four 806cc engine that churns out 113bhp of peak power at 10,200rpm and 83Nm of torque at 8,000rpm. Along with the cosmetics, these performance figures are also expected to slightly increase for 2017. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox which will likely remain the same.
