- 2018-20 Suzuki Burgman 200s recalled
- Scooters recalled over faulty fuel hose assembly
- New fuel hose to be replaced free of charge
Suzuki Motors USA has issued a recall notice for the Burgman 200 scooters that were manufactured from 2 April 2018 to 5 June 2020. The scooters are recalled over a faulty fuel hose issue. The fuel hose may have an internal diameter larger than the design specification that may lead to leakage of fuel due to loose connection. This may ultimately increase the risk of fire.
The Japanese automaker is notifying the owners of the affected scooters via email. The respective owners are expected to receive the notification letter by August 2021. Upon receiving the notice, customers are expected to visit the dealerships where the fuel hose assembly will be replaced free of charge.
Affected units in the warehouse are required to be repaired before releasing them to the dealers. Suzuki two-wheeler dealers are also informed to remedy the affected units before delivering them to the customers. As per the recall notice, a total of 270 scooters have been potentially affected.
