- All four models get new paint schemes
- Hill Start Control Pro offered as standard
- Seat height lowered for K 1600 GTL and K 1600 B
BMW Motorrad has unveiled the MY2019 updates for its K 1600 luxury touring range. The motorcycles get new paint schemes along with Hill Start Control Pro as standard.
The BMW K 1600 GT is now available in a single paint scheme – metallic black/silver. The existing metallic red and metallic blue/black have been discontinued. The K 1600 GTL is offered in a metallic blue paint scheme, with the metallic grey and metallic black being discontinued. Both the K 1600 B and the K 1600 Grand America get a metallic blue paint scheme. The seat height for both these bikes has been dropped by 30mm, although customers can still opt for high-seat option for an additional amount. Apart from this, the Grand America also gets a new speaker with amplifier for rear audio system in the top case with fader function as an optional extra.
All the four K 1600 models are offered with Hill Start Control Pro as standard. It is a system that holds the brakes automatically when they are applied for more than one second on an uphill or downhill gradient, when the bike is stationary. This makes it easier to fire the motorcycle.
In India, BMW Motorrad’s portfolio consists of the K 1600 B and the K 1600 GTL. As these motorcycles are imported as CBUs, we expect the 2019 range to be available in India right away. We do not expect any revision in the prices of the motorcycles.
