Honda has updated its product portfolio in Japan with the launch of the 2020 CBR250RR. The latest iteration of the quarter-litre motorcycle features new colour options and mechanical upgrades.
The 2020 Honda CBR250RR is available four colour options – Matt Gun Powder Black Metallic, Pearl Glare White, Grand Prix Red and Grand Prix red (striped). The Grand Prix red (striped) option is priced at 854,700 yen (Rs 6.01 lakh) while the other three colours are available at a slightly lower tag of 821,700 yen (Rs 5.78 lakh). The motorcycle will be available for purchase from 18 September 2020.
Mechanical specifications on the 2020 model include a 249cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin, four-valve, DOHC engine that now produces 40.2bhp at 13,000rpm and 25Nm of torque at 11,000rpm. In comparison, the previous model was tuned to draw 37.5bhp of power and 23Nm of torque from the same motor. The motorcycle continues to use a six-speed transmission. A quick-shifter is available as an optional extra.
While the colour options and the motor have been updated, the styling is similar to the previous model. Thus, the latest iteration of the CBR250RR continues to feature a sharp and edgy styling that is complemented by a full fairing, sculpted fuel tank and dual exhaust design. The premium hardware on the motorcycle includes upside-down telescopic forks at the front, mono-shock at the back and petal-type discs at both ends.
