The 2020 Honda CBR600RR has been launched in the Japanese market at 1,606,000 yen (Rs 11.40 lakh). The motorcycle will be available from 25 September 2020 in the country.
In terms of design, the 2020 Honda CBR600RR draws styling cues from its litre-class sibling, the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. The feature list comprises of full-LED lighting, colour TFT instrument cluster, full-fairing design with winglets, split-style seats and an under-seat exhaust. The motorcycle is listed in tricolour 'Grand Prix Red' paint.
Mechanical specifications include a 599cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that produces 119.3bhp of power at 14,000rpm and 64Nm of peak torque at 11,500rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox. The transmission features an assist and a slipper clutch mechanism while Honda will offer a quick shifter as an optional extra.
The safety net, which works with an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), comprises of ABS, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and emergency stop signal (auto hazard light in case of sudden braking). The motorcycle also comes with power modes, wheelie behaviour alleviation, and selectable engine braking control.
Hardware on the 2020 CBR600RR includes diamond frame, twin discs at the front, single rotor at the back, inverted big piston front forks and a mono-shock at the rear.
