- MV Agusta reveals the 2020 Brutale 1000 RR
- Is the mass-produced version of the limited-edition Brutale 100 Serie Oro
- Will compete against the new Ducati Streetfighter V4, Kawasaki Z H2 and KTM 1290 Super Duke
A year after MV Agusta revealed the Brutale 1000 Serie Oro limited-edition model, the Italian bike maker has now unveiled the mass-produced ‘RR’ version of the naked motorcycle. The company has revealed the pricing of the bike for Europe where it costs €29,900 (Rs 23.60 lakhs), which makes it more affordable than the Serio Oro variant, priced at €42,990 (Rs 33.94 lakhs).
While unveiling the limited edition model last year, MV Agusta had touted it as the most powerful naked motorcycle with a power output of 211.8bhp. Although this figure has gone slightly down on the RR trim, it remains to be one of the most manic naked machines. The 998cc, four cylinder motor of the Brutale 1000 RR churns out a staggering 208bhp of power and 116.6Nm of peak torque. Notably, this is the same motor which does duty on the F4 RC sportsbike.
Being the cheaper version, the RR loses out on the carbon-fibre wheels and titanium bolts of the Serie Oro and employs forged aluminum wheels and steel bolts instead. However, the RR still features carbon-fibre on various components. It is also loaded in terms of electronics, sporting MV’s full electronics package which includes features such as an up and down quickshifter, eight-levels of traction control, launch control and four riding modes. Furthermore, the Brutale 1000 RR also gets a five-inch TFT screen, full-LED lighting along with cornering lights.
When it comes to design, this litre-class naked is as bonkers as it can get. With the low-slung oval-shaped headlamp, gold-finished front forks, razor-sharp body panels and quad exhausts, the Brutale 1000 looks ready to rip the tarmac apart. What’s more, the radiator-mounted aero winglets are integrated to give the utmost stability at high speeds. Talking about speed, MV Agusta claims the top speed of the motorcycle exceeds the 300kmph mark. In terms of cycle parts, the RR is identical to its Serie Oro counterpart featuring electronically-adjustable Ohlins suspension and Brembo brakes.
With all the aforementioned madness, the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR will lock horns with the recently unveiled Ducati Streetfighter V4, Kawasaki Z H2 and the new KTM 1290 Super Duke R which will be unveiled at the EICMA show tomorrow, 5 November.
