- 2021 Aprilia Tuono 125 revealed in Italy
- Gets a redesigned front fascia
- It won’t be launched in India
Aprilia recently took the wraps off the 2021 edition of its 125cc motorcycles in Italy. While we have already told you about the fully-faired RS 125, lets’ shed some light on its naked sibling, the 2021 Tuono 125.
The most noteworthy aspect about the new Tuono 125 is its headlamp section that closely resembles the Aprilia SXR 160 maxi scooter’s front end. It’s a split-type LED unit that looks sharp and wide and it is more in line with Aprilia’s latest supersports, the RS660 and Tuono 660. Apart from the redesigned front end, the rest of the bodywork remains majorly unchanged.
The Tuono 125 also gets an LCD dash that looks identical to the unit present in the SXR 160 scooter. Talking about the engine, it is powered by the same 124cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit that does duty on the RS 125. It has been revised to comply with the new Euro5 emission norms but continues to produce 15bhp of power. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels suspended by inverted forks and a monoshock. Braking is handled by a disc at both ends with a dual-channel ABS setup.
Although Piaggio won’t bring the Aprilia Tuono 125 to India, it would have given a tough fight to the KTM 125 Duke available here. Nevertheless, Piaggio will certainly bring its middle-weight offerings – the RS660 and Tuono 660 in the coming months.
