Aprilia has finally unveiled the Tuono 660 and will hit international markets by March 2021. It is also expected to be launched in India sometime this year. Until then, here is everything you need to know about the Aprilia Tuono 660.
Tuono V4-inspired styling
The Tuono 660 follows in the footsteps of its older sibling, the Tuono V4 1100 in terms of styling. Hence it is based on the full-faired RS 660 but with a streetfighter bodywork. It sports a half-fairing with full-LED headlamp and DRL like its faired counterpart. And going with its character, the Tuono 660 comes with a raised, single-piece handlebar that offers an upright riding position. It also get a short windscreen to compensate for the lack of a fairing. Aprilia is offering the Tuono 660 in three colourways– Concept Black, Iridium Grey, and Acid Gold.
A 660cc engine
Powering the Aprilia Tuono 660 is a 660cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor that features a 270-degree firing order. While this engine is the same as the one on the RS 660, it gets a shorter final drive than the latter. It churns out 95bhp of maximum power as compared to the RS 660’s 100bhp unit.
Filled to the brim with electronics
The Tuono 660 is equipped with a bucket load of electronic rider aids. It boasts of ride-by-wire, traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, engine brake control, cruise control as well as five ride modes. Moreover, it also ships with a colour TFT display.
India launch and pricing expectation
Piaggio confirmed that it is looking to launch the Tuono 660 in India sometime this year. However, the motorcycle is expected to demand a substantial premium over its rivals- the upcoming Triumph Trident 660 and Honda CB650R.
