- New Hero Hunter launched in Nigeria
- Claimed to be offered with one-year free engine oil
- Unlikely to enter the Indian market
Hero has launched its Hunter in the Nigerian market. The commuter motorcycle is quite similar in terms of the displacement and side profile to the Hero HF Deluxe that retails in the Indian market.
In terms of the design, it gets a lean and simple styling with Hunter graphics on its 10.5-litre fuel tank. It further carries a circular theme for a few of its equipment like the headlamp and speedometer. It also comes with features like halogen headlamp, analogue speedometer, USB charging port, an engine underbelly pan, extra long seat and a rear carrier.
The commuter motorcycle is powered by a 97.2cc air-cooled engine that sits in a double-cradle frame and churns out 7.4bhp at 8,000rpm and 7.95Nm at 4,500rpm. This power and torque is taken to its wheels via a four speed gearbox. The suspension duty is handled by telescopic forks at the front, and five step adjustable hydraulic shock absorber at the rear. Meanwhile, for braking it employs a 130mm drum on both ends.
It is available with three colour options: Candy Blazing Red, Vibrant Blue and Black. The auto-maker also claims that it will offer one year of engine oil for free to its buyers in Nigeria. However, we are yet to know the retail price of the same. While the Indian manufacturer already has its HF Deluxe on sale in the country, it's highly unlikely to bring the Hunter into the Indian market anytime soon.
