Honda has unveiled the 2021 iteration of the X-ADV for the Southeast Asian markets. The 2021 model year adventure-scooter gets an updated design along with revisions to the engine and the feature list.
The 2021 model features a sharper design and it benefits from a redesigned diamond frame, new LED DRLs, a Bluetooth-enabled five-inch TFT display, Honda Smartphone Voice Control system, a smart key, a redesigned windscreen, knuckle guards, step-up seat, a 22-liter under-seat storage space, a 1.2-litre glovebox, a USB charging port, and a centre-stand. The adventure characteristics of the scooter are enhanced by an upswept exhaust and tubeless-tyre compatible wire-spoke wheels. The 2021 X-ADV is available in three colours – Pearl Deep Mud Gray, Grand Prix Red, and Graphite Black.
The hardware on the adventure scooter includes 41mm cartridge-style upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock to perform the suspension tasks. The braking setup on the vehicle includes twin rotors at the front and a single disc at the back.
Mechanical specifications on the 2021 model are similar to its predecessor. Thus, the adventure scooter continues to use a 745cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor that produces 57.6bhp at 6,750rpm and 69Nm of peak torque at 4,750rpm. The power and torque output numbers are higher than its predecessor. The old model delivered 53.6bhp and 68Nm of torque. The motor is linked to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
Electronic rider aids on the 2021 Honda X-ADV include a Throttle By Wire system, five riding modes (Standard, Sport, Rain, Gravel, and Custom), ABS, three-level Honda Selectable Torque Control, and Emergency Stop Signal. The 2021 model has been launched in Malaysia at RM 67,799 (Rs 12.16 lakh).
