- 2021 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce revealed
- Larger dimensions and more comfortable
- India launch unlikely for now
MV Agusta has globally revealed the new 2021 version of its adventure touring motorcycle, the Turismo Veloce. It is available in four variants including Lusso, Lusso SCS, RC SCS, and Rosso. MV Agusta has given the motorcycle a bunch of updates and we tell you what they are.
Just like every other MV Agusta, the Tursimo Veloce is a gorgeous-looking machine with free-flowing lines, deep creases and sharp edges all across its body panels. While the overall silhouette has been retained, there are subtle purposeful changes. The height and width of the bike are 75mm and 38mm more, respectively. On the flip side, the seat height has gone down by 20mm that makes it more accessible. For better comfort, while touring, there’s a larger windscreen and the seat foam is also thicker.
It continues to be powered by the same 798cc, inline triple cylinder engine that is now Euro5-compliant but continues to produce around 110bhp and 80Nm. MV Agusta has tweaked the internals of the engine that has resulted in smoother power delivery and 12 per cent more torque available between 3,000-6,000rpm. What’s more, the six-speed gearbox comes with revised ratios while the bi-directional quick shifter has also been tweaked for more seamless shifts.
The Turismo Veloce was already packed with modern electronic aids but the Italian brand still bestowed it with new six-axis IMU-based rider aids like lean-sensitive ABS and traction control. It also gets cruise control and a more advanced 5.5-inch full-colour TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity. Higher-end variants like the Lusso, Lusso SCS and RC SCS incorporate additional bits like a GPS-enabled anti-theft tech, semi-active suspension, a centre stand, heated grips and an adjustable windshield.
The arrival of the 2021 Turismo Veloce in India is uncertain as of now. MV Agusta doesn’t have a distributor here ever since its partnership with MotoRoyale was terminated in 2019.
