Yamaha had launched its Bolt R Spec ABS model in Japan in April this year. The cruiser motorcycle is currently priced at 10,45,000 yen, which converts to approx Rs 6.9 lakh. There's only one variant on offer, and the Japanese manufacturer has planned to sell 360 units of the same annually in its domestic market. While its arrival in India seems highly unlikely, here we bring to you every detail of the cruiser motorcycle.
Engine
The Yamaha Bolt R Spec model is powered by a 941cc sixty-degree V-twin air-cooled SOHC unit that sits in a double-cradle frame and churns out 53.64bhp at 5,500rpm and 80Nm at 3,000rpm. It uses a five-speed gearbox to transmit all this power and torque to its wheels.
Design
The cruiser motorcycle surely looks very sleek and muscular in terms of design, thanks to its V-twin engine and chunky tailpipe. It is also very suitable for shorter riders as the seat height is kept at 690mm. Moreover, it also comes with Bolt R Spec graphics on its 13-litre fuel tank. The textured metal parts on its sides, engine and exhaust further enhance the look of the motorcycle. Yamaha has gone ahead with a minimalistic design on the Bolt R Spec but it will surely attract the likes of consumers who are looking out for a simple and robust cruiser motorcycle.
Features
The Bolt carries a circular theme for a few of its equipment like the headlight, indicators, taillight and instrument cluster. It comes with halogen lights, a digital instrument cluster, dual-tone finished exhaust, body-coloured fenders and a split-style seat with a rear grab handle strap.
Hardware
The suspension duty on this cruiser is handled by upright forks having an inner tube diameter of 41mm at the front. Meanwhile, at the rear, it uses a traditional two suspensions with a sporty gold reservoir tank. The bike is equipped with 19-inch wheels at the front and 16-inch wheels at the rear. The front wheel is wrapped with a tyre having 100mm width. Meanwhile, the rear wheel is wrapped with a tyre having 150mm width. For better-stopping power, it employs a 298mm wave disc on both ends assisted by ABS.
Colours
There are only two colours on offer here: Grayish Blue Metallic 4 and Black Metallic X. The Grayish Blue Metallic 4 colour along with graphics lends it a casual style. On the other hand, the Black Metallic X colour adopts a darker tone and comes with grey coloured graphics.
