Yamaha has revealed the 2021 Tracer 9 range for the international markets. The sports touring motorcycles are now powered by a Euro5-compliant engine.
Yamaha claims that the updated, 890cc, CP3 crossplane technology engine is lighter, powerful and advanced than the original powerplant. The Euro5-compliant 890cc, inline three-cylinder engine features an increased capacity that has been achieved through a larger bore. The peak power and torque output are rated at 117.3bhp and 93Nm, respectively.
The motorcycle is built around an all-new CF die-cast Deltabox chassis and it features a completely redesigned aluminium swingarm. The swingarm on the 2021 model is 60mm longer than the old motorcycle.
The safety package on the 2021 model works with Yamaha’s six-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). The electronic rider aids include four riding modes, cruise control, Traction Control System (TCS), Slide Control System (SCS), front wheel LIFt Control System (LIF), and Brake Control System (BC). The TCS, SCS and LIF feature three settings and they can be fully deactivated.
In terms of styling, the 2021 Yamaha Tracer 9 range features a completely redesigned bodywork. The feature list comprises of full LED lighting, a twin-pod headlight setup, a 3.5-inch colour TFT display, 10-spoke SpinForged wheels wrapped in Battlax T32 tyres, an adjustable windscreen, and a semi fairing.
The suspension hardware on the standard model comprises of 41mm telescopic front forks and an adjustable rear mono-shock – both sourced from KYB. The GT variant, on the other hand, benefits from KYB electronically-controlled suspension setup. The GT model also gets up-and-down Quick Shift System, LED cornering lights, grip warmers, and dedicated colours and graphics.
The new Yamaha Tracer 9 and Tracer 9 GT will arrive in the European dealerships from March 2021.
