- 2021 Yamaha XMax maxi-scooter updated
- Gets four new colour options
- Unlikely to enter the Indian market
Yamaha has updated its 2021 XMax maxi-scooter in Japan. It now comes with a few changes like increased light intensity from the headlamps, improved texture of the seat to provide better comfort, improved texture of the smart key and four new colour options. The updated model will arrive in the Japanese market on 28 July 2021. The company is also planning to sell 1,300 units of the maxi-scooter annually in its domestic market.
In terms of design, the XMax is a sharp and stylish looking maxi-scooter. It gets a tall windscreen upfront, glossy treatment on its sides, a single-piece seat, chunky rear grab handle and an XMax badge. It further comes with features like all LED lights, a combination of digital and analogue instrument cluster, front trunks with 12V DC sockets, a traction control system and ABS.
Powering the XMax is a 249cc single-cylinder water-cooled SOHC engine that churns out 22.8bhp at 7,000rpm and 24Nm at 5,500rpm. The ride here is taken care of by telescopic forks at the front and a unit swing suspension at the rear. For braking, it employs a hydraulic system with a single disc on both ends.
The 2021 XMax is priced at Yen 6,54,500, which converts to Rs 4.37 lakh. The maxi-scooter is available in four new colour options: Gray, Matt Gray, Matte Dark Gray and Matte Blue. While the XMax is updated in the Japanese market, the company does not seem to be keen on offering the same in the Indian market.
