BMW Motorrad has launched the new 2022 BS6-compliant iteration of its adventure motorcycles, the F 850 GS Pro and the F 850 GS Adventure Pro, in India. While the former is priced at Rs 12.50 lakh, the latter costs Rs 13.25 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom). BMW will bring them as CBU (completely built units) models to India and the deliveries will commence from June 2022.
Starting with aesthetics, both bikes retain the same design as before but sport new paint schemes. The F 850 GS Pro comes in Racing Blue metallic colour option with golden rims and galvanised radiator cowl. Whereas, the F 860 GS Adventure Pro has been introduced in Kalamata metallic matte shade and Black Storm metallic colour option.
Powering both the bikes is the same tried and tested 853cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that continues to pump out 92.5bhp of power at 8,250rpm and 92Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm. This engine is known for its refinement and tractability. Both models of the 850 GS are equipped with a couple of rider aids including riding modes Pro (Dynamic and Enduro), standard riding modes (Rain and Road), Dynamic traction control, ABS Pro, and automatic stability control. Moreover, Gear Shift Assist Pro, heated grips, and cruise control also come as standard equipment.
A 6.5-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster shows all the information in both models. It can be fiddled with the multi-controller for accessing different features available in the console. It connects with the rider’s smartphone and gives access to phone and media functions like making calls and listening to music. The German brand also offers a bunch of optional accessories with the bikes to enhance their useability.
