- F 850 GS available in a single colour
- F 850 GS Adventure listed in two paint options
- Prices start from Rs 12.50 lakh onwards
BMW Motorrad has updated its Indian portfolio with the launch of the BS6-compliant F 850 GS series. The range comprises two models – F 850 GS and the touring-focussed F 850 GS Adventure. These middleweight adventure tourer models rival the likes of Triumph Tiger 900 Rally and Ducati Multistrada 950 in the Indian market. The F 850 GS and the F 850 GS Adventure are distinguished through a few styling elements, fuel tank capacity, and colour options.
The Adventure variant, which is designed for long distance touring, uses a fuel tank that is eight litres larger (23-litre vs 15-litre) than the standard model. In terms of colours, the standard BMW F 850 GS is available in a single colour option – Rallye style (Racing Blue Metallic).
The new BMW F 850 GS Adventure, on the other hand, can be bought in two colours – Rallye style (Kalamata Metallic Matte) and Style Triple Black (Black Storm Metallic) paint options. The Style Triple Black features a stealthy theme and thus gets black paint for the rims. The Rallye style colour on both versions comes with gold paint for the rims.
Both motorcycles would be imported as Completely Built-up Units (CBUs). The 2022 BMW F 850 GS is priced at Rs 12.50 lakh while the Adventure variant is available at Rs 13.25 lakh (both ex-showroom, India).
