- Gets more aerodynamic design
- Deliveries have commenced this month
BMW Motorrad has expanded its touring portfolio by launching the 2022 edition of the R 1250 RT touring motorcycle in India. The motorcycle has been priced at Rs 23.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries of the bike have commenced this month for customers who have already booked it through the authorised dealerships.
BMW has bestowed the R1250RT with a bunch of changes over its predecessor, the R1200RT which was discontinued in India a couple of years back. The most noteworthy revision comes to its styling as BMW says it’s more aerodynamic than before. The fairing has been given some nip and tuck while there’s a new full-LED headlamp as well.
The motorcycle is decked up with features that enhance the modernity and touring quotient of the bike. For the latter, it incorporates a luggage rack, pannier cases, heated grips and seat, and an adjustable windscreen. You can also adjust the clutch, brake, and gear levers to some extent. Now, the list of electronic aids includes traction control, ABS, steering stabilizer, cruise control, hill hold control, and multiple riding modes. Jazzing it up further is a huge 10.25-inch colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
Propelling the R1250RT is a 1,254cc, boxer-twin, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine with BMW Shiftcam technology. It churns out 132.2bhp at 7,750rpm and 143Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm. Riding on cast aluminium wheels, it is suspended by Telelever forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. With a fuel tank capacity of around 25 litre, the kerb weight of the touring bike stands at 279kg.
