- 2022 Honda CBR400R and CB400X launched
- Get more premium suspension setup
- Dual front disc brakes available now
Honda has bestowed its 400cc offerings, the CBR400R and the CB400X, with a significant makeover for 2022 in Japan. These motorcycles are quite popular in Japan since acquiring a license to ride anything over 400cc is a complicated and expensive affair in the country.
Talking about the updates, the fully-faired CBR400R is now suspended by higher-spec Showa separate piston, big-piston forks which promise to offer a more plaint ride to improve the overall riding experience. Enhancements have been executed in the braking department as well. As opposed to the previous single disc with an axially mounted caliper at the front, the 2022 CBR400R comes equipped with dual disc brakes at the front.
As for the CB400X sport tourer, it gets upside down forks and dual disc brakes, which is a departure from the previous telescopic units and single disc. Powering the Honda CBR400R and CB400X is a 399cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder engine that churns out 45.4bhp of power at 9,000rpm and 38Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm. The six-speed gearbox is also accompanied by an assist and slipper clutch.
The CBR400R and CB400X won’t arrive at the Indian shores, at least not anytime soon. However, Honda might choose to expand its 500cc India line-up which comprises only the CB500X at present.
