- 2022 Kawasaki KLX450R launched
- A purpose-built off-road race motorcycle
- Comes to India as a CBU model
Kawasaki has announced the launch of the 2022 model of the KLX450R dirt bike in India. The purpose-built off-road race motorcycle is priced at Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom) which makes it Rs 50,000 more expensive than the previous model.
The 2022 edition of the bike comes draped in a new Lime Green colour option comprising a new set of decals. Kawasaki has also tweaked the engine for better low-end torque than before which should make it easier to get out of tricky situations. Moreover, the suspension setup has also been altered to tackle more abuse and handle rougher terrain.
Powering the 2022 KLX450R is a 449cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. This engine cradles a light-weight aluminum perimeter frame that works in tandem with long travel upside down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by petal-type disc brakes at both ends. There’s a Renthal aluminum handlebar and a tiny digital console too.
The 2022 Kawasaki KLX450R, similar to its predecessor, will come to India as a CBU (completely built unit) offering and deliveries will commence from January 2022.
