- 2022 Kawasaki W175 launched in Indonesia
- Gets three new colour options
- Was spotted testing in India some time back
Kawasaki has introduced the 2022 edition of its neo-retro motorcycle, the W175, in Indonesia. The only update it has received is new colour options – Metallic Matte Covert Green, Metallic Resplendent Silver, and Ebony-Black Style.
The W175 is available in three variants which are mainly differentiated in terms of styling. The SE trim is the base model with a conventional modern-classic styling featuring a round headlamp with chrome bezel, single-piece handlebar, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a chunky seat, a peashooter-style exhaust, and spoke wheels. The café racer trim, meanwhile, gets a tiny fly screen, a ribbed pattern seat, and a different colour option. As for the TR SE, it carries a scrambler persona with high-set fenders, a braced handlebar, and an upswept exhaust.
Powering the motorcycle is a 177cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out 12.6bhp of power. Strangely, the torque output varies depending on the variant; the TR SE makes 13.6Nm while the SE and Café produce 13.2Nm. Just like its styling, the cycle parts are also old-school – it gets telescopic forks with gaiters up front and dual springs at the rear. Braking is handled by a disc-drum combination. Where the W175 truly shines is in terms of kerb weight which stands at a measly 126kg.
Kawasaki was spotted testing the W175 multiple times in India giving rise to speculations that it might be launched in India. However, no further developments came into the limelight on this front.
