Kawasaki has recently updated the smallest member of its naked Z family, the Z125. In the international markets, it goes up against the KTM 125 Duke that’s available in India as well. Although it’s unlikely to arrive at the Indian shores, here are the details of the motorcycle for our curious readers.
Newcolours
The only change the Z125 has received for 2022 is a fresh set of paint schemes. The motorcycle is sold in two variants including standard and SE. While the former is available in black shade, the latter can be had in green/black and white/black colours.
Z family design
The design of the Z125 has remained unchanged for 2022. That’s justifiable given the fact that it already looks pretty stunning with styling inspiration taken from its bigger Z siblings. The low-slung headlamp, an exposed green coloured frame, and the sharp and angular body panels collectively make it quite a looker.
Engine
Powering the Z125 is a modern 125cc, single-cylinder engine with liquid-cooling and impressive power figures of 15bhp at 10,000rpm and 11.7Nm of torque coming in at 7,700rpm. This is commendable since its close rival, the KTM 125 Duke, makes lesser power at 14.3bhp.
Hardware
The Z125 is based on a tubular steel diamond-type frame that’s suspended by 37mm telescopic forks up front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that are shod with 110/80 section and 130/70 section tyres at the front and back, respectively. Braking duties are handled by a single disc brake at both ends.
