Kawasaki has launched the 2022 Z400 ABS in the US. The 2022 street naked motorcycle is offered only in one variant and two new colour options. Mechanically, the motorcycle remains unchanged. Likewise, the good part is that the pricing remains the same as its predecessor and is kept at USD 4,999 (Rs 3.65 lakh). While Kawasaki has announced the 2022 model for the US market, the Japanese two-wheeler maker has not made any comments about its Indian launch. In the meantime, here we bring you every detail of its 2022 iteration.
Engine
Powering the Z400 is a 399cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC motor that delivers 37.96Nm of torque at 8,000rpm. This motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox that is used to take the power to its wheels. If the company plans to bring it to the Indian market, the power figures could be different compared to the aforementioned figures.
Design
The new Z400 is a sharp and beefy looking motorcycle. It gets graphics on its sides and a Kawasaki badge on its 14-litre fuel tank. It also comes with a split seat setup with a grab handle strap, chunky exhaust with a metal cover and reflectors on its sides. The bike is available in two colour options: Candy Lime Green/Metallic Spark Black and Pearl Robotic White/Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray.
Features
It is offered with features like an LED headlight, TFT instrument cluster, ABS and slipper clutch. It further comes with an economical riding indicator that helps the rider to extract the best efficiency from the naked roadster.
Hardware
The ride here is taken care of by telescopic forks at the front and Uni-Trak swingarm suspension at the rear. Meanwhile, for braking it employs a 310mm single wavy disc at the front and a 220mm single wavy disc at the rear assisted by dual-channel ABS. The naked roadster rides on 17-inch wheels. Those wheels are wrapped with tyres having 110mm width at the front and 150mm width at the rear.
