The Suzuki Burgman Street 125’s bigger 200cc sibling has been updated for 2022 in the US. All the traits that the India-made Burgman Street 125 offers, the Burgman 200 takes them a notch higher. Although it’s unlikely to be launched here anytime soon, it would carve a niche of its own if Suzuki was to bring it to India. But for now, let’s check out in detail what the Burgman 200 is all about.
Design
The Burgman 200 is attractive in its own way. But what really catches one’s attention is the extremely tall windscreen, a burly front apron housing dual headlamps and a spacious seat that should be comfortable for long hours of riding. Similar to the 125cc Burgman, this too features a dual footrest provision. Looking marginally out of place is the 12-inch rear wheel that’s quite small for its overall bulbous appearance.
Features
As big as it looks, it has an equally large under-seat storage space of 41-litre. A 5.5-litre and 7-litre additional storage compartments are also available at the front. The fuel tank capacity is pretty impressive at 10.5-litre while its kerb weight stands at 163kg which is nearly as heavy as the KTM 390 Duke. What’s basic though are the headlamp and turn indicators that miss out on LEDs.
Engine
Powering the Burgman is a 200cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with SOHC (single overhead camshaft) and four valves. It comes mated to a CVT (continuously variable transmission) system. Although the manufacturer hasn’t revealed its performance numbers, our calculated guess says it should be nearly as quick and fast as the Aprilia SR 160.
Hardware
The Suzuki Burgman 200 rides on a 13-12-inch alloy wheel combination that are shod with 110/90 and 130/70 section tyres at the front and rear, respectively. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks and a monoshock. Meanwhile, stopping power comes from a single disc at both ends assisted by a dual-channel ABS setup.
