- 2022 Suzuki GSX250R unveiled
- Comes in new blue-black colour option
Suzuki recently unveiled 2022 iterations of a couple of its motorcycles for the international markets. The list of updated products also includes the 2022 GSX250R quarter-litre sportbike. Ironically, the only update it has received is the new blue-black colour option which is the same paint scheme that was introduced for the 2020 version of the bike.
Unlike the single-cylinder engine of the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 available in India, the GSX250R is powered by a parallel-twin motor. This 248cc, liquid-cooled, SOHC mill churns out around 24bhp of peak power and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. It rides on ten-spoke alloy wheels suspended by a KYB suspension setup; telescopic forks and a monoshock. The stopping power is delivered by a single disc at both ends with Nissin callipers.
Despite the aggressive and sporty styling, the ergonomics of the GSX250R are designed to deliver a comfortable riding position with easy-to-reach clip-ons and footpegs that are just slightly rear-set. The motorcycle weighs 181kg (kerb) and sports a 15-litre fuel tank. The available features are just bare basic with an LED headlamp, an LED tail lamp, and a reverse-lit LCD instrument cluster.
Suzuki has priced the 2022 GSX250R at $4,999 (approximately Rs 3.82 lakh) in the international markets. The motorcycle won’t be launched in India anytime soon since Suzuki already has the Gixxer SF 250 here.
