- 2022 Yamaha MT-10 breaks cover
- Gets a bunch of updates over its predecessor
- Makes more power at 164bhp
Yamaha's flagship naked streetfighter, the MT-10, has been updated for the model year 2022. The YZF R1-based roadster has received a host of changes that make it even more enticing now.
Yamaha has bestowed the motorcycle with a more aggressive and ferocious-looking design than before. The most prominent revision has been executed at the front with a twin-eye mono-focus LED headlamp accompanied by eye-brow-like LED DRLs. Subtle changes have been made around the fuel tank section as well.
The instrumentation setup now comprises a 4.2-inch full-colour TFT screen which is small but shows a plethora of information. There's a comprehensive list of electronic aids available including a lean-sensitive traction control system, lift control system, slide control system, and engine brake control. Moreover, it gets four riding modes for varying riding conditions.
The 998cc, CP4 engine has been updated with lightweight aluminium forged pistons, offset con rods and direct-plated cylinders for better performance and efficiency. The power output now stands at 164bhp, up from the previous 158bhp. Yamaha has also tweaked its soundtrack, making its exhaust and intake note wilder and raspier than before.
The 2022 Yamaha MT-10 will be available in three colour options including Cyan Storm, Icon Blue and Tech Black. It will go on sale in the international markets by February 2022. Notably, its India launch seems unlikely in the near future.
