BMW Motorrad has unveiled the 2023 iteration of the R 1250 RS sports tourer for the international markets. For 2023, the R 1250 RS gets new standard features and optional extras that are aimed to enhance its sports-touring capabilities.
The mechanical specifications include a Euro5-compliant, 1,254cc, twin-cylinder boxer engine that generates 136bhp of maximum output at 7,250rpm and 143Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm. This motor benefits from BMW ShiftCam technology for varying valve timing and valve lift on the intake side. It is aimed to deliver power across the entire speed range.
The electronic rider aids comprise Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and a new ‘ECO’ driving mode as standard. BMW Integral ABS Pro and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) are also part of the standard feature list. Further, features like full-LED lighting, colour TFT display with ‘Sport’ core screen, USB socket, and Intelligent Emergency Call are also standard. Meanwhile, Riding Modes Pro with riding mode preselection, engine drag torque control (MSR), heated seats for rider and pillion, and tube handlebars are available as optional equipment.
The styling cues on this sports tourer comprise a sleek twin-pod headlight, full-fairing, adjustable windscreen, split-style seat, side-slung exhaust, and 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends. The motorcycle will be available in the international markets. Meanwhile, its Indian launch details are not available yet.
