KTM has taken the wraps off the 2023 iteration of its flagship adventure motorcycle, the 1290 Super Adventure R. The new model year comes with mild updates on the visual and feature front while remaining majorly unchanged in other areas. That’s justifiable considering the top-notch set of equipment it already offers. In that case, let us take through the details of the 2023 Super Adventure R along with its stunning pictures.
KTM has kept the bodywork of the motorcycle unaltered but has adorned it with a new set of swanky orange and white decals.
Another revision comes in the form of an updated navigation system in its full-colour TFT display which now offers additional map options.
All the other aspects of the bike remain the same including its LC8, V-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces around 160bhp and 138Nm of peak torque.
Helping it endure all the off-road thrashing is an extremely capable WP XPLOR suspension setup incorporating 48mm USD forks up front and an adjustable rear monoshock with 220mm of travel.
Underpinning the 1290 Super Adventure R is a chromium molybdenum stainless steel chassis that’s as light as 10kg and is designed to handle on-road and off-road riding with the same poise.
While the stock placement of the bike’s handlebar, seat, and footpegs is promised to be extremely comfortable, KTM still offers a bunch of accessories (like 11 different seats) to allow the riders to revise the ergonomics.
As alluring a package as the 1290 Super Adventure R is, it’s equally unlikely to come to the Indian shores in the near future. In the international markets, it competes against the Triumph Tiger 1200, BMW R 1250 GS, Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250, and Ducati Multistrada V4.
