KTM has unveiled the 2023 iteration of its flagship adventure tourer motorcycle, the 1290 Super Adventure series. This range comprises two models – Super Adventure S and Super Adventure R. The R variant is the off-road biased version of the motorcycle and you can check out its image gallery HERE. In this article, we bring you images of the road-biased 1290 Super Adventure S.
For 2023, the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S is available in two new colour schemes – orange with black and grey. The orange with black paint theme gets a dual-tone finish with shades of orange colour visible across the bodywork and on the subframe.
Meanwhile, the grey colour trim gets a relatively monotone theme along with subtle orange graphics on the fairing and the rear panel.
The styling, on the other hand, remains unchanged and the 2023 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S continues to use a split-style headlight, a semi-fairing design, a 23-litre three-part fuel tank, split-style seats, and a dual-barrel exhaust.
Being a road-biased model, the S variant comes with alloy wheels on both ends. These are shod in Mitas Terra Force-R tyres.
The feature list comprises full-LED lighting, a seven-inch TFT display with new navigation software, selectable ride modes, WP semi-active suspension, ABS, and adaptive cruise control. Meanwhile, a bidirectional quickshifter and WP Suspension Pro are available as optional extras. For the 2023 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S, the KTMConnect App boasts Turn-by-Turn+ guidance and waypoints markers while retaining access to music and phone calls.
The mechanical specifications remain unchanged and the 2023 model retains the 1,301cc, V-Twin, liquid-cooled engine that delivers a maximum output of 158bhp and a peak torque of 138Nm.
KTM will also offer add-ons and accessories via the KTM PowerParts collection. These include crash guards, performance enhancements, and luggage solutions.
The suspension tasks on this model include WP-sourced 48mm upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock – both using WP semi-active technology.
The new 2023 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S will be available in the international markets from January 2023. The Indian launch, however, is not likely to happen in the foreseeable future.
