- Features major design changes
- Engine internals could also be altered
- Expected to be globally unveiled early next year
KTM is working on an updated 2023 iteration of its flagship naked street bike, the 1290 Super Duke. This was confirmed through a couple of spy shots of the bike surfacing online in May this year. Now, to further back the speculation of its existence, fresh spy shots of the 2023 1290 Super Duke have emerged on the internet.
Just like the previous spy pictures, the new ones clearly show the updated design which seems more radical than the existing trim. Unlike conventional headlamps with a glass screen, this motorcycle appears to be carrying an angularly contoured front cowl with hollow spaces along with an LED projector lamp nestled at the centre. Even the fuel tank area is deeply sculpted accompanied by sharp and muscular extensions. The rear design has also been subtly revised.
The motorcycle is also expected to be technologically more advanced and the aforementioned hollow spaces are there to house radar sensors, as per speculations. As for the engine, there aren’t visible changes in the engine casing. However, the test mules had sensors linked to exhaust headers indicating that certain internal changes in its 1,308cc, LC8, V-twin engine might be on the cards.
KTM is expected to unveil the 2023 1290 Super Duke around early 2023 for the international markets. While it’s unlikely to enter the Indian shores anytime soon, we might see something interesting from the brand in the middle-weight segment.
