KTM has revealed the updated 890 Adventure R for the international markets. The middleweight adventure-tourer from the Austrian manufacturer takes cues from the KTM 450 Rally setup. Thus, it gets the WP suspension package with fully adjustable WP XPLOR forks and a WP XPLOR PDS rear shock. Moreover, the setup on the 2023 model is re-tuned to reduce fatigue over long distances.
The updated design is heavily influenced by the KTM 450 Rally and the 2023 model gets redesigned bodywork with a new fairing, fuel tank, and cowling – all of which are aimed at improving aerodynamics and ergonomics. The 2023 KTM 890 Adventure R also benefits from a lower windshield, high front fender, single-piece seat, and engine protector.
Further, the cockpit includes a five-inch colour-TFT display with USB-C connectors. The setup on the 2023 model features a completely new appearance with coloured pictograms and intuitive graphics. In addition, the latest upgrades provide a developed turn-by-turn plus navigation system that allows the rider to select the preferred destination amongst their previous selections. There’s also a new call-out function with favourites call option, that has a maximum of 10 numbers or the option to call one of the 10 last numbers called.
Then, the electronic rider aids include the next generation of ABS control unit that takes readings from the 6D sensor and a newly added Demo Mode that will allow riders to take advantage of all the specs and options for the first 1,500 kilometres. This, in turn, will help the rider in deciding which pack or features to acquire.
The Indian launch details for the KTM 890 Adventure R are not available yet. However, we do not expect to see this model on our shores in the foreseeable future.
