KTM has unveiled the 2023 iteration of its RC 8C motorcycle. This track-only supersport motorcycle, which will be available in limited numbers, will be sold in select international markets. The latest iteration of the RC 8C gets cosmetic and mechanical updates and here we bring a detailed image gallery of the motorcycle.
The list of cosmetic updates comprises a fresh coat of paint and tweaks to the aero package. The previous version (pictured above: left) featured an orange base paint with decals on the fairing and the fuel tank.
The 2023 model, in comparison, uses a black base colour with highlights of orange on the fairing, front fender, and aerodynamic winglets. The chassis, on the other hand, retains the orange paint.
Apart from styling updates, the 2023 KTM RC 8C also packs more performance. The Austrian manufacturer has tweaked the engine to make 133bhp at 11,000rpm and 98Nm of peak torque at 8,250rpm.
The power output, which has increased by 6.9bhp, has been achieved through modifications like the installation of new, lighter titanium valves and conrods, two piston rings, higher compression ratios, a bigger throttle body, and a bolstered fuel pump/pressure.
The company has also increased the clutch preload, removed the top balancer, and adjusted the crankcase balancer shaft to achieve durability gains. An additional PANKL oil cooler is claimed to help with thermal stability too.
Then, there are the weight-saving measures that help the 2023 KTM RC 8C tip the weighing scale at just 142kg (dry weight). This has been achieved through components such as the brand-new titanium Akrapovic exhaust system.
The cockpit includes a revamped dashboard with a GPS data logger and KTM RC16 (MotoGP motorcycle) derived handlebar switches.
The Austrian manufacturer will create only 200 units of the 2023 RC 8C and each model will come with a special serial number stamped onto the triple clamp.
