- Showcased to dealers in India
- Launch details unavailable yet
- Will rival the Triumph Street Triple range in India
Yamaha Motor India recently showcased several motorcycles to its dealer partners in the country and among them was the Triumph Street Triple-rivalling MT-09. The latest iteration of the motorcycle is already available in several international markets, and we expect the India-bound version to share the same specifications.
The European-spec Yamaha MT-09 is powered by an 890cc, inline three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this motor delivers a maximum output of 117.3bhp at 10,000rpm and a peak torque of 93Nm at 7,000rpm. The model comes with a claimed fuel economy of 5-litre/100km (20kmpl), and the hardware includes 41mm upside-down front forks, and a rear monoshock. The front forks are adjustable for preload, compression, and rebound, while the rear is adjustable for preload and rebound. The braking hardware includes 298mm twin discs and a 245mm single rotor.
The styling cues on this roadster comprise a single-pod headlight with twin DRLs, a flat handlebar, a muscular fuel tank, a flat design for the seat, and an underbelly exhaust setup. Internationally, the company offers this motorcycle in three colours – Cyan Storm, Icon Blue, and Tech Black.
The Indian launch details for the Yamaha MT-09 are not available yet. However, we expect to see this motorcycle in our market in the second half of 2023.
